Fall Fund Drive Two-Fer: ALA Banned Books Week & CSULB Art Exhibit

‍ ‍

Thursday, October 8 at 2:00 PM on KPFK 90.7 FM: My guests for a full hour during KPFK’s weekly literary arts block couldn’t be more appropriate for our station’s fall 2026 fund drive. They exemplify the mission of KPFK and of Bibliocracy Radio: to celebrate, educate, empower readers and engage Southern Californians. In my first segment, American Library Association (ALA) president Dr. Maria McCauley promotes “Banned Books Week,” my favorite week of the year. At 2:30, Dr. Brett Mizelle of Cal State University Long Beach helps me celebrate both an exhibit of an important artist and writer at the Carolyn Campagna Kleefeld Contemporary Art Museum and related opportunities for research and scholarship via American Studies.

Thanks for listening to Bibliocracy on the radio, online, as a Community of Writers podcast, or at the Bibliocracy, org website. Please donate to KPFK today. Call the station at (818) 985-KPFK, or go online to kpfk.org.
