Bodie of United Faculty - UAW

‍ ‍

Thursday, September 17 at 2:30 PM on KPFK 90.7 FM: My guest this week is a USC professor and organizer who updates the Bibliocracy Radio audience on developments around the successful certification of a union at the University of Southern California.  In June, the new UAW local, United Faculty, won historic certification by the National Labor Relations Board.  Professor Michael Bodie, Associate Professor of the Practice of Cinematic Arts brings us up to speed on the success of organizing, community support, and the University’s failure to fulfill its legal obligation to bargain. A filmmaker, theatre artist, and educator, “Bodie” teaches courses in documentary filmmaking, immersive docu-narrative installation, and media for social change.
