Bibliocracy host on Disinfo Detox
Dr. Nolan Higdon
Thursday, Sept 18 at 2:30 PM on KPFK: I’m pleased to share an edited-for-radio version of a recent episode of the podcast Disinfo Detox. Host Nolan Higdon invited me to recommend (and discuss and read from) three books relevant to the themes of media, education, and politics. I admire Higdon’s podcast and took sincerely the fun challenge, finding a through-line and discovering something of my own intellectual autobiography. Of course, I recommend the classic The Society of the Spectacle by Guy Debord, a book on the neoliberal corporate attack on higher ed by Henry Giroux, and a thrilling breakout short story collection, Alternative Facts by San Diego writer and artist Emily Greenberg —-as well as a few more along the way!
